Meet Your Health Coach
Jackie Day, Founder
Integrative Nutrition Health Coach and Lifestyle Blogger
Hello friends! I’m so glad you’ve reached First Wave Wellness. As a lifelong runner, fitness advocate, entrepreneur, and mother, I understand personally the struggle of trying to balance it all.
A few years ago, I was burning the candles at both ends. Trying to juggle my own business, taking care of an aging mother who lives several hundred miles away, while dealing with my own grief of losing my father in the same year. Throw on top of that all the errands, homework checking, cleaning, cooking, laundry, caretaker, wife, and mother (not necessarily in any priority order here). Who has time for a social life or even self-care? I feel you, I've been there! I felt stressed, alone, and unhappy which led to poor food choices, bad sleeping habits, digestive issues and inflammation.
Then, something happened that completely changed the course of my life…
I discovered holistic health coaching at age 50 and created a new mindset with healthier habits. I discovered that information is NOT what creates transformation. BUT, changing your habits does.
Small gradual steps, what I call ‘micro-steps’, helped to manage my stress, eat healthier, and prioritize self-care. And you know what happened? I finally saw results:
I can finally sleep 7-8 hours frequently - talk about feeling refreshed!
I healed a 20-year digestion issue caused by irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
I learned how to manage my stress through time management techniques, fitness, and meditation
I finally feel FREE and HAPPY!
I have learned and grown so much in such a small amount of time and I want to share what I have learned with you! This is why I started my healthy living blog, First Wave Wellness, focusing on wellness for us 50+ folks.
I hope you will find my health and wellness articles helpful and welcome your feedback on topics that you would like me to discuss. Please feel free to use the contact form to reach out to me or if you have any specific questions regarding health and wellness. I'm here for you!

My education has equipped me with extensive, cutting-edge knowledge in holistic health coaching and prevention. Drawing on my expertise, I want to help others make lifestyle changes that produce real and lasting results.
Prior to starting First Wave Wellness, I launched First Wave Marketing, LLC. in 2012, to provide consulting services to companies needing marketing expertise. This includes strategic planning, creative development, digital marketing, event planning, branding, and website development.
My interest to become a holistic health coach and lifestyle blogger became apparent while assisting a corporate wellness client with their marketing and worksite wellness programs. Being able to witness the positive impact wellness programs had on employee behavior and overall well-being is what triggered my eagerness to address my own health issues and help others through this process.
